Calibration track including pedestrian crossing
Precise calibration of vehicle sensor systems for the highest accuracy
- Direct connection to high speed circular track
- Flat oval with a total length of 1.2 km
- 2 straights, each 550 m long
- 2 lanes with stop-and-go capability
- Pedestrian path integrated into the PTC track according to NCAP specifications
- Conducting 2 parallel tests with NCAP pedestrians is possible
On our fully enclosed test track for applicators (calibration track), we offer our customers ideal conditions for a variety of driving maneuvers, such as starting, stop-and-go, or idling (known as traffic jam driving). These maneuvers can only be performed to a very limited extent on public roads due to traffic safety reasons.
The calibration track is designed to calibrate vehicle sensors under real-world conditions and prepare the systems for road use. Here, vehicle sensors such as camera systems for lane-keeping assist, radar sensors for adaptive cruise control, and laser scanners for autonomous driving functions are precisely adjusted and calibrated. Our application engineers optimize the engine control on this track in terms of load impact damping, vibration damping, noise, gear linkage, boost pressure buildup, and regulation.
The access road constitutes its own test section. Here, defined dips and crests are traversed, which is useful for evaluating cruise control performance.
This calibration is crucial for the proper functioning of driver assistance systems and for the safety of autonomous driving.
