Airbag misuse & pendulum hall
Meeting the airbag requirements of various markets
- Tests according to VDA guidelines and international standards
- Curbs: 100 – 150 mm
- Steel beams: 80 – 140 mm
- Artificial boar/wild boars (50 kg & 80 kg)
- Sled for lateral curb impact
- Gravel piles and pits
- Pendulum (bicycle, shopping cart, vandalism) and sled (lateral curb impact)
- Potholes and ramp
- Rollover scenarios (elevated curve, slalom, lane change)
- Rough road (Belgian block, washboard track, wavy gravel road)
- SUV-specific test scenarios (railway sleeper, curb descent)
How precisely must the airbag software be calibrated to ensure that an airbag deploys only when it truly needs to? This is the focus of our passive safety engineers’ testing. Whether it’s a wild boar dummy, gravel pile, or pothole – false activations, airbag deployments, deactivations, triggering sensitivity, and other scenarios can be systematically tested or recreated according to specific customer requirements and subsequently analyzed after the tests.
